When people do not get the opportunity to get access to nutritious and healthy food options like vegetables, fruits, or other wholesome healthy options, the area they reside in turn into a food desert. These occur where there are no fresh produce markets or stores who provide these healthy and wholesome options and as a result people become deprived of these food options. It is really a sad reality, there are many such food deserts and what is worse s that people are not bothered much about their diet. These days’ people prefer having fried and processed foods more than healthy and wholesome meals and as a result, they do not even realize that they are losing out on a large part of nutrition and also seldom realize that they belong to a food desert. I think this can be a scene in an urban area where lifestyle has become adaptable to food deserts, compared to rural and countryside, where fresh farm produce is still enjoyed.
